Although the gallery is closed for our summer holiday, there are still plenty of opportunities to engage with us and our represented artists in museums and exhibitions across the map.

Exploring In Baltimore?

Be sure to visit the second iteration of Crosscurrents: Works from the Contemporary Collection at the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) this summer, featuring the work of Soledad Salamé and Lillian Bayley Hoover.

While at the BMA, tour BMA Celebrates MICA200, currently on view through January 3, 2027, featuring works by Timothy App, Jo Smail, Betty Cooke, Joyce J. Scott, and Amalie Rothschild, among others.

Stepping out side of the museum, explore Paul Daniel's Kinetic sculptures at these three locations: MICA Meyerhoff Gallery, Montpelier Arts Center, Harford County Public Library.

Traveling to Washington, D.C.?

Don't miss your final opportunity to experience Making Their Mark: Works from the Shah Garg Collection at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. This groundbreaking exhibition brings together works by nearly 70 artists spanning 80 years of innovation across painting, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, and video, including Joyce J. Scott and Elizabeth Talford Scott.

Visiting Virginia soon?

Paul Rucker's newest exhibition Rewind Resurrection, is currently on view at Cary Forward Museum through July 20, 2026. Located at 7 East Cary St., Richmond, VA, this thought-provoking exhibition explores the intersection of history, race, and identity through innovative multimedia installations.

While you're there, be sure to visit Americana at the Branch Museum of Design in Richmond, which features the work of Sonya Clark. Then head over to the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk to see Clark's work in Declare: A Civic Gospel.

Making your way to North Carolina?

Check out the Weatherspoon Art Museum, where you will find Of Salt and Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South, including works by Joyce J. Scott and Elizabeth Talford Scott, on view through August 1, 2026.

Rolling through New Jersey?

Stop in to see Joyce J. Scott: Declarations at Bainbridge House, presented by the Princeton University Art Museum, which opens to the public August 15, 2026.

Heading to Boston?

Be sure to visit Unbraid: Hair, Clay, and Craft, featuring the works of Sonya Clark at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, on view through July 26, 2026. "As Clark says, 'hair is power … it is a fiber that you can tell a story with. It is the fiber that we grow.'"- MFABoston

Finding your way to Connecticut?

Consider visiting Rebel | Revolt | Resist at The Amistad Center for Arts and Culture featuring works of Sonya Clark. This exhibition is part of Framing American Democracy, a series of exhibitions throughout The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art that mark the American Semiquincentennial in 2026. 

Traveling to Italy?

Visit Fondazione Dries Van Noten in Venice, Italy, a non-profit cultural institution for contemporary dialogue in art, fashion, and craftsmanship, where you will find Joyce J. Scott in The Only True Protest is Beauty, a collateral of the Venice Biennale, on view through October 4, 2026.
